Just a quick update. Still trying to edit a poem that's been in the works for the last couple of months. I just can't seem to find the words to finish it. Going through the days, seeing what life throws at me. I have to be thankful for my friends though, especially one who loves having someone around as much as me. If I hadn't told him I liked him earlier in the year, I probably would now. BUT, we're just friends & that's just fine with me. He's like my brother now and I feel like I can go to him for anything (well, most everything).

So I guess that's just a quick update. Hoping to have that poem done soon. :)

Not A Day Goes By

Not a day goes by
When I don’t think about you
Not a day goes by
Without me being a little blue

Not a day goes by
When I wish you could be mine
Not a day goes by
That I lie, saying “I’m fine”

Not a day goes by
That I wish things were okay
Not a day goes by
When I wish you weren’t so far away

Not a day goes by
When I don’t think about you
Not a day goes by
That I’m better off without you

Not a day goes by…

Thoughts....

I haven't been on in ages but I haven't stopped writing or wanted to stop writing. I just haven't had the time & honestly, I miss it so much. I'm hoping the next few days give me some "food for thought" to able to write one. I could do a lot of self-reflecting and come up with one because the last few months have been quite different for me to say the least. But in the last couple of weeks, I have come to find that I have true friends and that I would do anything for them. I have had the most fun in the last couple of weeks with them than I have in my entire schooling career. I was meant to have friends like them and I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends than them.

We shall see what I come up with next. I'm (slowly) working on that story. Need to get back into the groove of things again. They have to wait, however, because I have other dreams to accomplish. :)

College Crush

When I told you that I liked you
I was afraid you didn't feel the same
When you told me that it was true
Instantly, I took the blame

I know we can be great friends
That I can tell you anything
Hoping you felt the same way
I was wrong and it really stings

You understand me like no one else
It would hurt if you weren't my friend
I hope I can still confide in you
Please don't let this be the end

My dream is this doesn't change anything
I hope it makes our friendship stronger
Can things just go back to normal?
So this isn't awkward any longer

My Guider

You've said I'm wise
Far beyond my years
Although I don't believe you
My eyes suddenly have tears

It's for all the times
You've been there for me
Helping me in any way
Especially with my poetry

You've been there from the start
Helping me improve
Each compliment you've given
Tells me you approve

You are an exceptional person
And I know in my heart
Fate brought us together
To never have us drift apart

I love you more than the stars
And the dirt under my feet
But I’m just so thankful
That fate had us meet
I tried saying goodbye
But you wouldn't let me go
Why would you keep me around
If you didn't want me ages ago?

I tried to put up a wall
To keep my heart from breaking
But you somehow broke it down
And now my heart is aching

Even though you said you did
You never cared about me
This hurtful love within my heart
Needs to be set free

Tired & Confused

You don't text
You don't call
What do I do?
I'm in a stall

Tired of waiting
Tired of trying
What do I do?
Keep on lying

Mixed signals
Mixed feelings
What do I do?
Gotta keep on healing

Are you in?
Or are you out?
Better decide quick
Or you'll be without

Friend

You’re the type of friend anyone could love
Because you’re sweet, funny, caring
You love to help me any way you can
Even if I don’t feel like sharing

You’re there for me when I’m down
Listening to what I have to say
You’re there when I need someone to talk to
Trying to keep my emotions at bay

I’ve known you for a very short time
But it seems like it’s been years
I confide in you with everything
Even sharing my deepest fears

You’re the type of friend anyone could love
Because you have a heart of gold
And I’m hoping at some point to share with you
Everything that’s been untold

Unnamed 1

The necklace hangs around my neck
As a constant reminder of you
Because when you're not with me
My emotions always turn blue

I look forward daily to talking to you
Chatting about both our days
Dreams, and hopes, and worries
Until we don't know what to say

You bring a smile to my face
No matter how sad I am
You're nothing like a lion
But gentle like a lamb

I want to have you around for always
Together through thick and thin
Because this is just where we start
On a journey we both begin

Fans of Celtic Thunder

Being a dedicated fan
Requires a little hard work
Especially if others
Are trying to be jerks

Fans don't diss their favorite band
Nor do they hate things about them
Because in their mind's eye,
They are quite the gem

They, the fans, love them for them
Not because of the content they sing
But because they know the truth
That they are the REAL thing

So if you're a dedicated fan
Keep the love flowing
So that the "Celtic" Thunder
Keeps on rolling

Absence.....

Wow. I'm really slacking. I was very busy with school & hadn't had a chance to update this. I have written a few poems since my last post so I will post those. I, however, somehow lost my notebook with the story with Mr. McGee & Annabelle. If I find it, I will put up another little snipit of it since I haven't written in it in so very long. I'm sorry for this long absence.

Enjoy!

A Dream Come True #4

"Okay. I guess I'll tell two stories today since you all have been fantastic this week. How's that sound?"

A roar of happiness filled the room.

The day passed by quickly and soon it was time to head home. Anna had to make a quick stop to get some needed groceries.

It was only a few minutes from the school to the store so she was there in no time. She climbed out of the car and headed into the store when she spotted someone familiar.

"I didn't think I'd see you again so soon. What are you doing here?"

"Well, I should be askin gyou the same thing. But since you asked, I forgot to stock up on snacks for the lad. He and I just finsihed our little tour of the surrounding area and he said he was hungry so now I'm here, with you," he said with a seductive smile. "So, what are you doing here?"

"Well, apparently the same thing. And to set the record straight, I am not here with you." Anna didn't like to have him say that no matter how much she wished it were true. She really had no idea what her true feelings were for him. All she knew was that she did like it when he said 'with you' because she never had someone, some guy for that matter, ever say that to her.

A Dream Come True #3

(not indented)He winked and left Anna with many questions. Anna didn't have any time to waste. She was late getting to work but not entirely since she wasn't scolded at by the powers.

Gathering her belongings, she headed to room 115. Some of her students were waiting with eager smiles. She shooed the kids off to play outside, encouraging them to enjoy the outdoors and to maintain a healthy weight so as to not be a victim of obesity. Anna got her things situated for the day, all the while humming to "Heartbreaker" by Ryan Kelly of Celtic Thunder. This song kind of fitted Anna's first impressions of Mr. Fin McGee.

The bell woke Anna out of her daydream because now was teh time to each. Anna loved to teach children almost as much as visiting Ireland. To her it seemed as if everyday had new surprises even if the day was going horrible. So as the students were taking their seats, Miss Quinn decided what to do first.

"Okay, guys, listen up! You have two options: either start work and have me tell a story later or tell the story now and work the rest of the day." The kids loved to hear Miss Quinn's stories because most of them were about Ireland so it was a hard decision for them to make. When Miss Quinn saw the difficulty of this decision, she decided to do something nice and quite surprising for a woman like her.

A Dream Come True #2

"Yeah, I guess I'll go, too. I have to pick up a wee lad and take him to the park."

"Aww. How old is this wee lad, if I may ask?"

"He's four. I'm just going to teach him how to catch a ball so he can start playin' when he and I return home."

"How sweet." Anna's brain had a moment of catching up before she said, "Wait. 'Return home'? I thought you just moved here from Ireland? You're not staying?"

Fin looked at Anna, puzzled. "Yeah. I had to finish a few things up here and see some sights before I left."

Anna didn't know what to say because she didn't understand what he meant by 'finish a few things up'. Why would someone leave their home to travel somewhere else to 'finish a few things up', especially one from Ireland. She knew how she felt returning home. She couldn't fathom his motives and really didn't want to.

"Oh. Well, I hope you enjoy yourself."

With a smirk and a seductive purr in his voice, he said, "Well, of course, love. Why wouldn't I?"

A Dream Come True #1

*Note: This is not the beginning of the story. It's where I chose to begin.*

"I've never seen you here before."

"Yeah, well, I just moved here from Ireland but plan on moving back after I finish looking for something."

This man looked a lot like the one in Anna's dreams. He had the same facial features and was built the same way. Scary to think this strange man resembled the on her dreams.

"Umm, sorry, but I didn't seem to catch your name."

"Finnegan McGee but everyone calls me Fin." He had this sort of gleam in his blue eyes that told her to be wary of him. "May I ask what you call yourself?" He even had the same raspy voice. Shivers ran up her spine; he noticed. "Somethin' the matter, beautiful?"

"N-n-no. I'm just a bit lightheaded, that's all." Anna was blushing from having to lie. "My name is Anna, Annabelle Quinn."

He extended his hand and said, "Nice to meet ya, Anna." Shaking his hand brought back the sensations from her dreams. Could this be a coincidence?

Mr. McGee was standing there, looking at Anna like he was going to snatch her up. Another shiver ran through her body.

"Is somethin' the matter? You have shivered twice. Are ya sure ya don't have a fever or somethin'? I could take ya home if ya liked."

"No, I"m fine. Thanks though. I guess I'll see ya around." Anna was afraid to stay much longer because Fin seemed a bit mysterious.

Regarding the "Dream" story

I have recently decided not to continue 'Dream' in first person, rather the third person. The next installment of this "updated" story will still contain the same thing but in a much different way. I was editing it and decided that I might as well "restart" to fully get the story out.

Thanks for reading!

For My Special Friends

Meeting you has changed my life
And I'd never want it any other way
Because it's meant so much to me
That I still have friends today

You came into my life
And I didn't know what to expect
Because I honestly didn't know
How we would connect

You're now in my life
And I seem to be addicted
Or else very much attached
This wasn't something I predicted

I wanted to say thanks
For always being there
Because otherwise
I wouldn't really care

Long overdue...

This is just something I have to post. No need to comment.

Being in love is so complicated. Sometimes one loves the other more. Sometimes one doesn't think the other loves them as much. Sometimes there isn't enough time to see each other. Sometimes ones afraid to tell the other they love them. So you see, love is a complicated thing to go through and sometimes scary as hell. But we all go through it at one time or another. We just have to be thankful for the experience and the memories that go along with it otherwise we wouldn't be human.

So much I should add but I don't think I should. I really must jet and try to write more of my dream but I can't find the time or resources though I have everything ready to be written/typed. Maybe I'll do what Stephenie Meyer did and write the ending before I finish the beginning.

Just my thoughts today (& one from January).

Dream #2

It's not very common to have the same dream multiple times, all being about the same man, doing the same things. How am I supposed to know what this means? It's not like I don't know I'm looking for a man, the right man for that matter, who I want to spend the rest of my life with. I mean I am almost thirty years old and haven't had but a couple of boyfriends in my time, none of whom were the husband type. Why should I be having these dreams, the same dream, all in a short amount of time? Is there something I'm missing in this dream?

Whatever the case may be, I better leave it alone because otherwise I'll have an accident. I wouldn't want to have those kids possibly miss out on one of my Ireland stories. Man, it makes me feel so wonderful to share all my experiences with those kids; makes me feel like I'm back there, reliving everything I have done.

The ride home was faster than the one to school. Everything looks as if it has survived the day. I cross the threshhold of the door and take a deep sigh of relief. I drop everything on the table in the hallway and walk to my kitchen to fix something to eat. As I walk by the living room and the dining room, I silently wonder if there is ever going to be a man living in this house and just as quickly, I shake that thought from my head. As I reach the kitchen, all I can smell are the flowers I picked the day before: purple lilacs. In the warm kitchen, the lilacs have permeated the room since I left this morning. With the room filled with lilacs and whipping up a quick snack, I'm content enough to forget about the dream.

For My Mentor (you know who you are!)

You have repeatedly told me
How proud you are
But I honestly don't see
Who you are referring to, a star

I take those compliments
And put them to heart
But it doesn't cover
The ache I feel from being apart

You are like my mother
Someone to seek guidance from
But I don't see
Who you think I should become

I love you to no end
But I just wanted to tell you
How much your absence affects me
And why I seem so blue.

Arlene, I hope this conveys my feelings. As you can see, it is not edited and doesn't intend to be either (unless otherwise noted). I must thank you for your support in my poetry and writings; afterall you were the one who showed me a new way to express myself. You've also showed me what a wonderful girl I am and how bright and creative I can be. I think very highly of you and I thank you.

All the best for the future.
